Natures Self Catering Breaks

Now if you ever get the chance to holiday in the North West province and specifically Limpopo I say grab it! Now like many of you I come from a large metropolis and whilst I can appreciate the beauty of nature it may not be the first place I’d necessarily place myself.

But having been at Optima Breaks for a few months and experienced a number of new and exciting things I’ve come to appreciate the beauty of this flat and grass filled land.

This beautiful area is completely untouched and surrounded by the Free State and Botswana and host a number of historical sites. The province as numerous national park the most well-known being the Pilanesberg Game Reserve which finds itself located in the crater of an extinct volcano (trust me the kids love that! In all fairness I loved that!).

Now all this being said I’ve truly come to appreciate a holiday that takes me away from the city. No exhaust fumes, no police sirens and certainly no friends dropping by in the late hours of the evening. And if that’s what you’re looking for, the North West province would love to have you visit!

Now being your favourite and well only Optima travel-blogger here are a few suggestions about where to stay, what they offer and how quickly you should get it (you should get it now)!

Found within the Pilanesberg National Game Reserve you will find the delightful Bakubung Bush Lodge which offers amazing opportunities to view game with their very own hippos in the resort! The resort offer luxury thatched chalets apartments of the self-catering variety, and offers their guest a range of activities to keep them occupied such as tennis, game viewing or you can always curl up with a book next to the pool. Each chalet has a fully functional kitchen –so if you’re taking the kids get them to cook for you, and depending on your requirements the unit can fit up to 6 individuals.

Just off Pretoria’s N4 West you’ll find the tranquil country estate of Dikhololo. This resort provides the isolation of a holiday whilst ensuring you’re always safe and connected in that each separate camp makes up this bushveld villa. Facilities include squash and tennis courts, volley ball courts, super tubes, a pool room and vehicles equipped for game drives. And for those wanting to have a bit of a shopping trip why not go to the nearby town of Brits and take in some of the local culture, or even take in a spot of golf and maybe try your hand at blackjack at the casino.

Each chalet has a kitchen and is serviced daily for your convenience, with a restaurant that serves excellent meals on site and of course the epitome of South Africa- a braai facility!

Now dear readers I suggest you take advantage of what South Africa has to offer!
